The agriculture in the colonies before the revolution was mostly agricultural. The farming was done mostly in the south and the cash crops were tobacco, cotton, and indigo. In the north they had lumbering, ship building, and commerce. While the economy had lumbering, ship building, and commerce agriculture was the major economy. The colonies traded mostly with England and were part of the triangle trade that enriched the colonies greatly. This was the economy before the American Revolution.

Agriculture was the primary source of money in the colonies. They grew crops such as tobacco, indigo, rice and corn. They exported rum to Africa in exchange for slaves. They also exported lumber to England in exchange for items such as dressers and barrels. If I lived in the colonies during this time period, I would cultivate tobacco.

Before the Revolutionary War, the colonies had an agricultural economy. They mainly farmed for food and sold surplus food for a profit. Down South, people cultivated tobacco, which became a main export for the colonies. Up North, the Middle Colonies cultivated grains and wheat to make bread. Also, lumber was a major export to England because the English used it to make naval supplies. I would have run a naval store if I had been a colonist

The economy before the Revolutionary war was based mainly on Agriculture. Tobacco was the main export for the southern colonies and the bread basket colonies exported most of the grain and wheat. In the New England colonies, fishing and shipbuilding were main sources of their economy. Naval stores contributed in building and maintaining ships. Also they exported rum and used it for the triangle trade. If I lived in the colonies at this time, I would choose to work with in the triangle trade because it would be fun to travel.

Before the Revolutionary War, the American colonies had an economy based mainly on agriculture. Very little industry and manufacturing existed, especially in the south. The main agricultural export was tobacco. This was grown mostly in the south along with other staple and cash crops. In the northern colonies, less agriculture existed due to colder climate so they began to export other products such as ships, timber, and rum. Northerners on the coast also worked as fishermen.
If I lived in the American colonies before the Revolutionary War, I would have been a ship builder. It was a good job with decent money and was not affected negatively by most of the taxes issued by England.
